Attend a night club or Disco is one of those experiences that many enjoy, have a few good drinks, company, dance floor, at the top and of course music a good set of lights, where these are a key element of the experience, offering along with the music, we move the body and senses.
Lights have evolved with the passage of time, were once manual and only used a single color, now we have them in a wide range of formats, figures, colours and styles, same that can be programmed according to a routine, or to the rhythm of the music; but now the evolution continues and integration is increasingly more complete, since it is now possible pair them with our movements on the dance floor.
Lights with sensors to measure temperature and movements
‘The Year’ is a nightclub located in São Paulo, Brazil, that has become famous due to the technology incorporated into their play of light, which are installed in a sort of cage that hangs on the dance floor, where the interesting part is that each LED light is equipped with a sensor that detects temperature and movements of the crowd.
Thanks to these sensors, the lights are re-attached an extension of the bodies that are beneath them, since they depend on attitude and energy of each person for display, and transmit a show, all according to the music and the atmosphere in the place.
The Brazilian architect Guto Requena has been responsible for creating this peculiar system, where thanks to a research in the Centre for interactive studies from life of the University of São Paulo managed to develop this type of relationship between virtual and real spaces.
